Leaving the University

A leave of absence allows UNH students to temporarily or permanently pause studies for personal or academic reasons.

 

Leave of Absence

Any student not subject to an academic or conduct action may take a temporary leave of absence from the University.

Review the University and information below.

Students that would like to be counseled on this decision should contact their College Dean's Office.

Students taking a leave of absence from the University may contact the Financial Aid Office to discuss any impacts to student loan deferment and/or loan repayment status.

Undergraduate Students

 

A Health Leave of Absence is available to students managing health concerns. More information is available from the Dean of Students.

All other students interested in taking a leave of absence may email the Office of the Registrar's Leave Coordinator at registrar.records@unh.edu

Graduate StudentsContact the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Dovev Levine by email or call (603) 862- 2234 to request leave of absence information.

 

Withdrawal

Students planning to attend another institution or that do not wish to return or continue their education at UNH should withdraw from the University.

Students that would like to be counseled on this decision should contact their College Dean's Office.

Undergraduate Students

 

Students withdrawing for medical reasons should contact the Dean of Students.

Students withdrawing from a portion of academic courses should contact registrars.office@unh.edu

All other students planning to withdraw from the University may contact registrar.records@unh.edu 

Graduate StudentsGraduate students intending to withdraw may contact the Graduate School at grad.studentrecords@unh.edu
