Supported Graduate Opportunities
There are 14 supported awards that may be of interest to graduate students, listed below. For each supported award, we have developed a suggested application timeline and will provide counseling and support to you and your letter writers (where applicable and allowed).
Boren* - Funds research and language study proposals by U.S. graduate students in world regions critical to U.S. interests.
Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) - Fully funded immersive summer program studying a critical foreign language
Fulbright* - Provides funding for an academic year of research or study at an institution abroad
Knight-Hennessy Scholars* - Provides funding for master's and doctoral degrees at Stanford
Luce - A leadership development opportunity that provides an immersive professional experience in Asia
Marshall Scholarship* - Provides support for master's and doctoral degrees in the UK
Nancy Foster - Provides support for master’s and doctoral degrees in oceanography, marine biology, maritime archaeology
National Defense Graduate Fellowship - Fellowships for early-career graduate students in STEM
National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (NSF GRFP) - Fellowship for first- or second-year graduate students in STEM and social sciences.
Rhodes* - Provides support for graduate study at Oxford.
Schwarzman - Provides support for a one-year graduate degree in Global Affairs at Tshingua University in China
SMART - Supports graduate students in STEM disciplines
Soros - Provides funding for graduate study in the US for students who are New Americans
Switzer - One-year fellowship for graduate students in New England and California whose career goals focus on environmental improvement
*Opportunities with an asterisk require that you apply through the university so you must work with the Office of National Fellowships.
