Room types at UNH are separated into three different styles - traditional, suite and apartment.

• Traditional: What most people know as a college residence hall or "dorm." These are bedrooms on a hallway with shared, community-style bathrooms. Floors/wings could be assigned a specific gender or co-ed. Room sizes in traditional housing include singles (one person), doubles (two people), triples (three people), and quads (four people). Traditional housing is available to all students. All first-year students are assigned to traditional style housing.
• Suite: A suite is when one or more rooms share a bathroom(s) to just members of that suite. Some larger suites will also include a common space/living room. Suites range in size from three students to eight students. Suites are available to second year and above students. First-year students are generally not eligible for a suite. 
• Apartment: Apartment housing on campus is full apartments. All units are two or more bedrooms, with a living room, one to two bathrooms, and a kitchen. Apartment sizes range from three to six people, with a variety of configurations. Apartments are available to second year and above students, or students who are at least 19 years of age. First-year students are generally not eligible for an apartment.
