Vision for UNH Manchester Campus

Q: With the creation of a new integrated online unit in the provost’s office, what is the vision for the future of the UNH Manchester campus?

The January 2026 announcement sharing UNH’s vision of a more integrated Office of Online and Continuing Education (OCE) makes coordination with the UNH College of Professional Studies (CPS) and the UNH Manchester campus more important than ever.

UNH Manchester is an important site for connecting UNH with employers, industry partners, and working professionals in the state’s largest city. Through CPS and other UNH colleges and schools, the campus serves hundreds of students in Manchester and online. Its faculty and staff play a key role in workforce development for New Hampshire through professionally oriented programs and strong partnerships with regional industries. A compelling example of this role is UNH Manchester’s work with the ReGen Valley Tech Hub, which positions New Hampshire as a leader in biofabrication while developing the skilled workforce needed to support that growing industry.

Our goal is to better integrate academic offerings across UNH through shared faculty, coordinated curriculum, and stronger collaboration among colleges. CPS Dean Mike Decelle is leading these conversations for Manchester with other UNH deans at the beginning of a process to identify the best model for greater program and faculty integration.

In short, the goal is a strong in-person campus in Manchester that complements the Durham campus, deepens connections with industry and the community, and continues to work toward a more coordinated academic enterprise across the Â鶹app.
