
Maithili Shroff, Ph.D., is the Licensing Manager for the Âé¶¹app, where she is integral to supporting research and IP commercialization by exploring, evaluating, and protecting UNH’s intellectual assets to maximize their social and economic impact.
Maithili Shroff graduated number 1 in her class in biological sciences at the University of Leicester and has held various research positions in the UK and UAE. Her early career includes extensive experience in medical laboratories and hospital settings in Dubai, where she worked on genetic diseases and regenerative stem cell therapy. She earned a PhD in Life Sciences through the prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship (European equivalent of a Fulbright) at the University of Dundee, while also completing a LifeArc-AUTM Technology Transfer fellowship.
Upon graduation, Maithili started working at the Âé¶¹app, a leading R1 institution, and is now the Licensing Manager. She has been instrumental in driving innovation and commercialization efforts, managing all aspects of the university's technology transfer operations. Her leadership has contributed to significant growth in licensing revenue and innovation disclosures, earning her accolades such as the Âé¶¹app President’s Award for Excellence and TechPipeline’s Excellence in Licensing Award. Maithili also founded and manages the Innovation Fund program, teaches intellectual asset management, and supervises law school residents and interns among others.
She holds a Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) credential and actively volunteers on the committees of various organizations (AUTM, WILA, Equalize Startups) including the LifeArc-AUTM Foundation Fellows. Her career reflects a strong commitment to bridging science and business, with numerous awards and speaking engagements highlighting her impact in the field of technology transfer.
