Honors Welcome at First-Year Orientation
welcome to the hamel honors and scholars college!
The Honors College welcomes new students at the beginning of each First-Year Orientation session. The Honors Welcome is an opportunity for students and parents to get to know Huddleston Hall, learn about the Honors Curriculum, and meet future peers and staff. After the Honors Welcome, students join the full First-Year Orientation program.

4:30 - 5:00: Honors Student Arrival
- Park in (look for students with Honors signs if you need help)
- Walk down Quad Way to (bring your overnight bags with you)
- Check in outside Huddleston 110
- Parents: say goodbye for the night!
5:00 - 5:45
- Parents: join Honors director Catherine Peebles in Huddleston 110 to learn about the Honors College. Coffee and cookies provided.
- Students: join Honors students and staff in the Huddleston Ballroom (Room 105) to get to know each other and learn about your future in the Honors College

- Dinner served to students in Huddleston Ballroom
- Parents depart or join optional Parent Welcome Reception (5:00 - 6:30) hosted by New Student and Family Programs

- Students bring overnight bags to residence hall and join full Orientation group
