'One of the Most Fun Experiences'

On a recent Thursday afternoon, over 100 people packed the 鶹app’s Theatre II in the Memorial Union Building to watch the finals of the annual Three Minute Thesis competition. The Three Minute Thesis, or 3MT, is a competition where graduate students have three minutes to explain their research in language that is accessible to a non-specialized audience.

The 2023 edition of UNH’sCampusClimateSurveyhas launched! This importantsurveycommissioned by the Office of Community, Equity and Diversity is conducted only very rarely and is being sent to all UNH students, staff, and faculty to better understand how community members feel about the state of the university and how it can improve. Results from this research(IRB# 2023-110) will be shared with the entire UNH community and by participating, you will be able to help shape future decision-making at the university.

Three UNH Grad Students Named Finalists for Federal Fellowship

Three UNH students have been selected as finalists for the 2023 Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, opening the door to possible two-year, full-time federal positions.

The PMF program “offers advanced degree holders a pathway to a permanent career appointment at a federal agency.” Finalists have one year to apply for and secure specific positions as fellows. According to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, 87% of recent fellows accepted a permanent or term position upon completion of the two-year program.

Hot Ticket: UNH, Amtrak Celebrate 1 Million Passenger Milestone

The Durham-UNH Amtrak station on the 鶹app campus celebrated surpassing the 1 million passenger milestone Thursday, March 23, with the arrival of a Downeaster train, becoming just the second Amtrak station in the state to reach seven figures in ridership.

The celebration welcomed passengers arriving on and boarding train No. 684. It featured an appearance by Wild E. Cat and passengers were gifted swag bags from Amtrak and Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority (NNEPRA).
