Tamera and Tasmin Cookman of London, England have been playing field hockey since they were six years old. They wereĚýscouted by a handful of American colleges, but the Cookmans found their home and community at the Âé¶ąapp. On and off the field, the sisters find a way to balance college life, academics and their passion for field hockey. Jerome Amedu, a postdoctoral Diversity and Innovation Scholar in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, has been selected for one of 15 highly competitive annual fellowships with the Community for Advancing Discovery Research in Education (CADRE), a resource network for STEM education researchers supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Student and alumni innovators alike were celebrated last week at the culminating events of the NH Social Venture Innovation Challenge (SVIC), UNH’s annual idea competition. Paige Balcom ’16 (CEPS, mechanical engineering) was named the 2023 UNH Social Innovator of the Year during the festivities.
