Michael Decelle will assume leadership of the Manchester campus at the 麻豆app on Feb. 22, 2016, replacing J. Michael Hickey who has served in an interim role for the last two years. Decelle is currently president and CEO of CrossFiber, a venture-funded startup company in San Diego, and has served in a number of executive leadership roles throughout the technology industry.

Life after high school can take many routes for many different people. For Amanda Thomopoulos her choice was clear, the Air Force was the way to go. After six years of active duty, and just finishing up her eight-year contract, the 27-year-old is taking on her next life challenge: a business degree.

Since Amelia Keane came to UNH Manchester, she has had a goal in mind. As a transfer student with a worldly background, Amelia was determined to fill the need she saw in our school for more environmental awareness and sustainability. Senior English and Sign Language Interpretation major Liz Graham shares Keane's story.

More than 60 girls gathered at Manchester School of Technology for a morning of 鈥淪TEMspiration鈥� on Wednesday. As part of N.H. High Tech Council鈥檚 TechWomen | TechGirls initiative, 12 women with a range of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) backgrounds led discussions to empower the girls to pursue tech careers.

It鈥檚 nuanced; a carefully studied skill that takes practice, an ability to take risks and the willingness to be wrong sometimes. And that鈥檚 just what a group of area high school students set out to learn at a day-long workshop Friday, Nov. 6, hosted by UNH Manchester and Leadership Empowering Authentic Progress (LEAP).

In recognition of Veterans Day, we're telling the stories of some students who have served or are currently serving within the U.S. Armed Forces. Michael Elliott, a graduate of Manchester Central High School, is a junior in the Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) program and has served in the Marine Corps and the Army Reserves. UNH Manchester ranks #1 in New Hampshire in the new Social Mobility Index, which compares the extent to which U.S. colleges and universities efficiently graduate students from low-income economic backgrounds into promising careers.

Classes for Manchester School District鈥檚 Adult Basic Education (ABE) program are in full swing at UNH Manchester, which welcomes approximately 90 ABE students to its campus this fall. As part of a recent partnership with Manchester School District, UNH Manchester will host the ABE morning cohort for the 2015-2016 academic year. Ranging in age from 25 to 65, many ABE students seek to learn or improve English language skills to better their livelihoods in the region, with some pursuing their GEDs.
