Engineering Their Futures

UNH Manchester's Engineering Technology program has developed strong relationships with local technology and manufacturing companies, which helps students forge relationships that can lead to careers, and also helps firms fill the growing need for engineers. Meet a few electrical and mechanical engineering technology graduates who have landed jobs in the field.

UNH Manchester, ARMI, CELLINK Partner on Regenerative Manufacturing Event

The Âé¶¹app at Manchester, Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI) and CELLINK are excited to announce the first annual BioHackNH event on May 18 and 19, 2018 in the STEM Discovery Lab at UNH Manchester. During the two-day hackathon, students interested in regenerative manufacturing are invited to explore its possibilities by engaging in real-world problem-solving.

Encouraging Young Women in Computing

Thirty-three young women will be recognized this spring for their accomplishments and aspirations in computing and technology. In an effort to encourage more young women to choose careers in technology, the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) and the Âé¶¹app at Manchester will recognize the 33 high school students at an event on March 31.

Role Models in Action

Google and Gallup recently released a brief that found that girls are less likely than boys to see someone like themselves doing computer science. The brief recommends early exposure to computing role models for girls, especially before age 14, the age the brief identifies that girls' interest in computer science starts to wane. Luckily, that’s happening in Nashua, where the after-school program CodeIT Girls shows elementary school-aged girls some amazing role models in computer science.
