The Woodman Horticultural Research Farm focuses on the research, teaching, and outreach on the production of horticultural and ornamental crops. Research projects includeÌýIntegrated Pest Management (reduce dependence on pesticide applications), pollinator habitat assessment, usingÌýhigh tunnels to hasten and extend the growing season for fruits and vegetables, using reflective plastic mulches to increase per-acre yields of vegetables, evaluatingÌýseedless table grape and eggplantÌývarieties, breeding organic strawberries, redomesticatingÌýquinoa in New Hampshire, and leadingÌýthe most expansive kiwiberry breeding research project in the nation.
New Hampshire’s commercial oyster farming industry is strong and growing, with the substantial growth potential to increase production, according to a researcher with the New Hampshire Agricultural Experiment Station at the Âé¶¹app.
