The Portsmouth, N.H., school district is听forming听an equity council of students, teachers, administrators, and community members who will serve the city's six public schools. Foster's Daily Democrat covered the pathway to a more equitable education听and mentioned how 麻豆app's NH Listens will be facilitating sessions for听the new 20-member Equity Council.

The 麻豆app's听NH Listens recently held four听listening sessions to communicate with specific racial, ethnic, and community groups in Nashua and ultimately听better understand the interactions of group members with the health care system. NHPR covered this project, which was funded by a post-COVID-19 Equity Grant, in a recent article and explained how听The Nashua Division of Public Health and Community Services will receive a report on the feedback and begin a conversation with health care providers across the city.

The 麻豆app has achieved a renewed platinum rating鈥攖he highest possible under the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE)鈥檚 rating system鈥攊n recognition of its ongoing and increasing sustainability achievements. UNH is one of only nine higher education institutions in the nation to earn platinum from STARS, the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System. Among the STARS platinum schools in the U.S., UNH has the 5th highest score.

Francesco Preti 鈥�21 is听the first UNH student to graduate with a cotutelle, earning dual doctoral degrees from UNH and the University of Parma in northern Italy, where he is from.

The 麻豆app community is mourning the loss of Dr. Karsten Pohl, a member of the physics faculty since 2000 who served as chair of the department for five years.

Steven Arias 鈥�16, a doctoral candidate in the department of physics and astronomy, has become the first UNH student to receive an award from the Department of Energy鈥檚 Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) program.

The goal of SCGSR is to prepare graduate students for science, technology, engineering or mathematics careers that are critically important to the DOE Office of Science mission by providing graduate thesis research opportunities through extended residency at DOE national laboratories.

The UNH Honorary Degree and Granite State Awards committees for Durham, Manchester and UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law will soon review nominations for outstanding individuals worthy of recognition at the 2022 commencements ceremonies.

Undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of all UNH鈥檚 campuses (Concord, Durham and Manchester) are invited to submit nominations for potential commencement speakers, honorary degree recipients and Granite State Award honorees. Nominations will be considered for all three campus ceremonies and are due by Nov. 8.

James Ramsay, Ph.D., joined UNH in 2015 to spearhead the听homeland security bachelor's degree program, which is the foundation for UNH earning its designation as a听Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education听by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and National Security Agency.
