Research Title: Exploring effective contact strategies for pancreatic cancer screening candidates
Abstract: A major goal of this project is to develop effective strategies for contacting patients regarding an updated need for cancer screening based on a change in screening recommendation criteria. These strategies will be developed for the 2024 pancreatic cancer screening updates within the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines, but they will be broadly applicable for future use with other changes in screening guidelines. Some aspects of the project will be presented at the 2026 Boston McNair conference, and the full results of all aspects of the project, including those developed by undergraduate students and those developed by the genetic counselors at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, will likely be peer-reviewed and published in an article at a later time.
