SAARA's Director Talks Sibling Rivalry on the Healthy Children Podcast

SAARA’s Director, Dr. Corinna Jenkins Tucker, recently joined Dr. Edith Bracho-Sanchez on the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Healthy Children podcast to explore a critical topic for parents: when sibling rivalry and conflict cross the line. Sibling rivalry and conflict are normal in childhood, but sometimes they can go too far and are associated with negative mental and physical health. Parents may not know what to expect or how to foster a positive sibling relationship between their children.
In this episode, Dr. Tucker discusses how to recognize the difference between typical sibling disagreements and more concerning patterns, as well as what parents can do to support healthier relationships at home. Dr. Tucker also describes the importance of constructive conflict in fostering a positive sibling relationship throughout life.
