Jointly administered by the and the , the ANEW program enables nurses to advance their education while remaining in the communities where they live and work.
The award is part of a multi-year federal investment in ANEW. Since 2019, the program has helped dozens of nurses complete advanced training, with many graduates remaining in New Hampshire to provide primary care and mental health services.
Previous funding has helped offset students' educational expenses and supported clinical training partnerships throughout the state. It has also helped develop preceptors and new team-based care models designed to improve access to patient care through workforce development.
"This continued investment allows us to support nurses who are committed to serving New Hampshire communities," says UNH ANEW Director Marcy Doyle. "By helping students pursue advanced practice nursing education close to home, we're strengthening the primary care and mental health workforce, addressing critical healthcare shortages and improving access to care across New Hampshire."
