Originally from Houston, Texas, Mike holds undergraduate degrees in English Literature and Mathematical Economic Analysis from Rice University as well as a Masters and PhD in English Literature & Languages from Penn State University. Mike previously held the position of Assistant Professor of English Literature at Lane College; likewise, he has taught courses and conducted research in a variety of positions at Rice University, Penn State University, Great Bay Community College, and the Âé¶¹app. Mike made the switch from academia to student services in 2025 and has not looked back since!

As a Disability Specialist, Mike works with students to navigate the interactive accommodation process as well as support them throughout their time at UNH. His work supports the SAS mission of ensuring students with disabilities have equitable, effective, and meaningful access to campus programs, resources, and services.

Mike is also a published disability studies scholar. He wrote the chapter on for the Blackwell-Wiley Encyclopedia of Contemporary American Literature, 1980 – 2020 as well as a critical review essay titled, which appeared in the Journal of Modern Literature. 

In his free time, Mike enjoys all things sports, puzzle-esque activities like crosswords and chess, and playing with his two bulldogs, Samson and Tony.
