New England Streams Impacted by High Salt Concentrations

Âé¶ąapp researchers estimate that more than 10 percent of streams in the Merrimack River watershed, which covers areas of New Hampshire and Massachusetts, are impacted by high chloride concentrations as a result of road salt applied during winter. Salt concentrations can be highest in the summer, raising concerns about harm to freshwater plants, invertebrates, amphibians, and fish.

UNH Welcomes Nearly 1,000 Fourth-Graders to Fairchild Dairy June 6-8

Âé¶ąapp will welcome nearly 1,000 area school children to the Fairchild Dairy Teaching and Research Center for the 30th School-To-Farm Days June 6 to 8, 2017. This educational opportunity is sponsored by the , , and the Rockingham and Strafford County Farm Bureaus, and strives to teach Granite State youths about the importance of agriculture in the state.

NHPR: NH Primary to Be Displaced?

Dante Scala, professor of political science at the Âé¶ąapp and a fellow at the Carsey School of Public Policy, recently appeared on NHPR to discuss how the state of Nevada has begun taking steps to challenge New Hampshire's first in the nation primary status. People outside of New Hampshire have continued to say that New Hampshire demographics no longer represent the nation's and that a different state such as Nevada may be a better indicator.
