It is with great pleasure that we announce the听honorees听of this year鈥檚 Campus Compact Presidents鈥� Awards.听

For a quartet of senior UNH students, there鈥檚 something in the water. And one of their last acts prior to graduation will be helping to remove it.听

UNH researchers have received an Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA) from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to study tiny antenna-like projections on the surface of brain cells, called neuronal primary cilia in an effort to understand how they regulate hippocampus-dependent memory formation.

Experiment station scientists Becky Sideman and Marta Lima will present their findings of which varieties of seedless table grapes grow well in New Hampshire, and the pros and cons of different growing systems.

Programs that provide economically disadvantaged children with food to take home and prepare on the weekends, often referred to as 鈥淏ackPack鈥� programs, have grown dramatically in recent years. Carsey School Fellow Quixada Moore-Vissing was recently interviewed by Rick Ganley on NHPR regarding the 2020 New Hampshire Civic Health Index she co-authored. The 2020 Index听shows that N.H. actually ranks toward the bottom of the country in some key measures of civic health.
