Your UNH Winter Bucket List
What are the best things to do on the UNH Durham campus during the winter? If you are looking for a campus filled with exciting activities in all seasons, UNH is the right place for you. With temperatures dropping and the anticipation of the holidays and winter break coming up, there is so much to love about winter as a Wildcat.
To celebrate the beginning of winter, we're sharing some of our students' favorite winter traditions on campus. From hiking in snowy College Woods to enjoying an arts performance in the Paul Creative Arts Center, here are our students’ favorite UNH winter traditions and events.
Snowboarding and sledding down Library Hill
Our students agree that there’s no study break or weekend activity quite like taking a snowboard or a sled to the slopes of Library Hill. Take a break from studying and enjoy the first big snowfall on our campus!
Making hot cocoa
Our students love making a warm cup of hot chocolate in their residence hall or in one of our dining halls. Once the temperature starts to drop, nothing warms you up like a hot beverage between classes or study sessions!
Attending an arts performance
Our students like to get out of the cold and support their friends and classmates by grabbing a seat in the Paul Creative Arts Center to take in a performance by some of our talented students. Choose from a music performance, a dance concert, or live theatre.
Cheering on Wildcats hockey
UNH students love cheering on their home team during an exciting hockey game at the Whittemore Center Arena (the Whitt). As a UNH hockey fan, you'll take part in like throwing the fish on the ice and cheering with the 'Cat Pack Captains.
Hiking in College Woods
Winter is a great time to take a walk in College Woods at UNH. Enjoy access to 250 acres of wooded area to explore on foot or on cross-country skis or snowshoes.
