UNH Today

Leading By Example

In 2009, Aboubacar Konate ’17 arrived in Boston from his native Guinea not able to speak a single word of English. He had left his West African homeland in the midst of a military coup d'etat that had soldiers patrolling the streets of Conakry,Ìýthe country’s capital city where he lived, and residents living in fear, the threat of violence looming just around every corner.

Accelerating Success

It was less than four months ago that Eric Ciarla ’22 and Caleb Peffer ’22 were shaking hands with UNH President Jim Dean as they collected their diplomas at commencement. Now they and their fellow founders of SideGuide, Nicolas Silberstein Camara ’21 and Garrett Frohman ’21, are routinely shaking hands with some of the giants in the tech industry.
