Tuesday, January 12, 2016
Sarah Sherman received both the 2015 Jean Brierley Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Graduate Faculty Mentor Award. She says her teaching philosophy is grounded in the idea of engaging and enabling students. “I want to create an environment in which they feel comfortable voicing their opinions,” she says, and where they listen to and learn from each other. Sherman is a professor of English in the College of Liberal Arts.
