According toÌýJessica Carson, assistant research professor at the Carsey School, in the nation's 199Ìýrural counties where seasonal housing acounts for 25% or more of all housing units, average cases per 100,000 people were more than twice as high as in other rural countries and 15% higher than in urban areas.ÌýThe research suggests that rural scenery has drawn visitors seeking to escape densely populated metropolitian areas andÌýwho likely brought the virus with them.
