DURHAM, N.H. -- Acclaimed poet Jean Valentine will read from her work and hold a Q&A session Thursday, March 5, 2015, at 5 p.m. in the Memorial Union Building, Theatre I, as part of the 麻豆app Writers Series. The event is free and open to the public.

Valentine won the Yale Younger Poets Award for her first book,听Dream Barker,听in 1965 and the 2004 National Book Award for Poetry for Door in the Mountain: New and Collected Poems 1965-2003. Her 11th book of poetry is听Break the Glass听(Copper Canyon Press, 2010). Her new book, Shirt in Heaven, is forthcoming from Copper Canyon in 2015.听The recipient of the 2009 Wallace Stevens Award from the Academy of American Poets, Valentine has taught at Sarah Lawrence, New York University, and Columbia. She lives in New York City.
