UNH’s connection to XMA includes a partnershipÌıfor use of campus equipment, including an ultra-low temperature Bluefors dilution fridge, and UNH and XMA have also submitted two grants together in partnership with Harvard and the Quantum Economic Development Consortium.
A tour of the facility allowed the visitors to see up close some of the incredibly intricate procedures required to produce the chips made in the XMA lab.
“From a research perspective, we want to make sure that the work we are doing at UNH is connected to the actual challenges in our communities and that we are generating solutions that are applicable to the situations that the citizens of New Hampshire find themselves in,†say McCord. “It’s incredibly important to be in the community and to get that perspective that you just can’t get sitting behind a desk.â€
