Patricia Halpin, associate professor of and , was elected as chair of theÌýÌýfor the American Physiological Society, which has more than 8,000 members across the globe. The Teaching Section promotes excellence in physiology education through educational research and scholarship in physiology, providing opportunitiesÌýand mentoringÌýfor trainees, early career faculty and established faculty to adopt and refine evidence-based teaching of physiology.ÌýHalpin will serve a three-year term as chair,Ìýduring which time she will lead the section steering committee, organize section meetings, coordinate conference events and more.
