Sharyn Potter and Jane Stapleton were invited to speakĚýat the UNH InnovationĚý on Feb. 21.

Potter and Stapleton spoke about their new nonprofit , UNH's first women-run spinout. Soteria Solutions provides new approaches to prevent sexual and interpersonal violence and harassment, workingĚýto activate bystanders at all levels in orderĚýto create lasting change and build a safe, respectful and sustainable culture in organizations andĚýschools.

Soteria Solutions uses the evidence-based research developed by (PIRC) to inform its commercialized products. Potter and Stapleton are PIRC's executive directors and are UNH faculty members.

In the seminar, Potter and Stapleton shared their advice for running and growing a research and innovation-based startup and talked about how they balanceĚýtheir research and business responsibilities. They talked about the unique challenges that women founders face and discussed the resources that are needed for the next generation of female innovators.
