Fox publishes research on factors that influence intervention

With one of the largest samples to date, faculty fellow Nicole Foxof California State University-Sacramentoconducted 35 in-depthinterviewsand analyzed surveys from273 individuals who participated in rescue efforts during the 1994 Rwandan Genocide in order to identify what factors made people intervene in dangerous political and war time events.

Fox and her colleague Hollie Nyseth Brehm of Ohio State University recently published their research, which "explores the importance of social networks, socialization and intergenerational stories of rescue to prosocial behavior" in Social Forces.
