New initiative seeks applicants to boost their communications skills

To enhance the capacity of our researchers to effectively communicate the power and impact of UNH scholarship with a broad audience, the Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Research (OSVPR) and have developed a Research Communications Academy (RCA) that will be offered annually, starting in spring 2019.

The academy will include a two-day intensive training in communicating science presented by the , a program of Stony Brook University hosted here at UNH; a one-day grant writing training led by an experienced and effective consultant; and regular meetings of the cohort to hone their craft and practice their skills with experts from a range of potential stakeholder groups.

The Research Communications Academy is open to faculty, graduate students or postdoctoral researchers who would benefit from increased capacity to effectively communicate their research to diverse stakeholders including potential collaborators, industry partners, legislators, news media, and others.

Participants should be prepared to commit to the two-day Alda training (Jan.Ìý10 and 11, 2019), one-day grant trainingÌýand three additional two-hour meetings throughout spring 2019 semester. ÌýÌý

Participation in the RCA is free, but space is limited. If you are interested please complete an application form. A recommendation from your dean or director is preferred but not required. The OSVPR and NH EPSCoR will review all applications and make final selections.

Dean/director recommendations are due by 5 p.m. on Nov. 10, 2018

Participant applications are due by 5 p.m. on Nov. 15, 2018Ìý

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of the review by 4 p.m. on Dec. 1, 2018
