Harris workingĚýat Hertz
This summer, there was a Wildcat on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
Even though she was far away from UNH, Leah Harris '19 still hadĚýthe Granite State on her mind. As one of the few northernersĚýinterning at Hertz Corporation, the junior accounting and management majorĚýshared some Wildcat love with her colleagues.
“My coworkers have been asking questions about the Â鶹app and Paul College. It allowed me to share what it means to be a Wildcat,” she says.
The busy internship kept Harris on her toes.ĚýBecause she was at company headquarters, she saw how the teams in the corporate officeĚýwork together, while she performed data analysis work for the company.
“IĚýhad the opportunity to shadow other workers. Through this exposure, I am able to see the different markets and how all the teams need to coordinate to come to the common goal,” she says. “My work at Hertz is numbers-based and research-driven and requires detailed accuracy.”Ěý
A Paul College opportunity allowed Harris to take this summer internship far from her home in New City, New York. To help with living expenses,ĚýHarris applied for and received a stipend from Paul College’s Internship OpportunityĚýFund, which was created by alumni and friends of the college to support students doing internships that would otherwise be cost-prohibitive.Ěý
“The Internship Opportunity Fund is one of many of the resources Paul College has to support our efforts for practical internships, and it was beneficial to me,” says Harris.
