Professor Sharkey is internationally recognized as an engaged scholar, having won two prestigious Fulbright awards. SheÌýcontinues to be actively engaged in service with the Fulbright Foundation reviewing applications on a regular basis.Ìý Further, her scholarly leadership is evidenced through her service on the editorial boards,Ìýas well as through her work as Chair of theÌýResearch Standing CommitteeÌýofÌýTeachers of English as a Second LanguageÌý(TESOL) Association.
