The Sustainability Institute is here as a resource to support faculty across UNH in creating opportunities to integrate sustainability concepts into their curriculum.

Custom Class Presentations & Visits
Professional and student staff are here to support all students, in any major and available to make guest presentations in your classes. Sessions can be tailored to your course content and help students discover opportunities available to gain experiences to apply classroom learning and build problem-solving skills, courage and confidence to solve today’s pressing sustainability challenges.

Mentor a Student Team Making a Difference in Emerging Economies
The UNH International Changemaker Grant provides up to $15,000 for students to bring knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise to community-based service projects in emerging economies. Students work with faculty mentors to identify an international NGO partner to co-develop a meaningful service project during summer, J-Term or Spring break. NEW for FY26, faculty mentors receive a $1000 stipend.

Join us for an exploratory conversation on why the 2020s are pivotal as we work towards building thriving economies, ecosystems, and communities – and how businesses and governments are responding and moving forward in a time of significant social and cultural change. Speakers will draw insights from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and share real-world examples of public and private sector leadership and investment.
Anne Finucane has regularly been named to Forbes’ and Fortune’s Most Powerful Women in the World lists, along with American Banker’s 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking. She is currently Chair of the Board of Rubicon Carbon.
Dr. Jennifer Jenkins is the Chief Science Officer at Rubicon Carbon. In 2007, she was part of the IPCC team of scientists that won the Nobel Peace Prize for their work on climate, along with former Vice President Al Gore.
Sustainability at UNH Online Module Digital Badge
UNH is ranked one of the most sustainable schools in the country! Bring the Sustainability at UNH online module into your course. Faculty, staff and students who complete the module will earn a micro-credential digital badge from Credly to add to a digital professional profile, such as LinkedIn.Have your students test their knowledge in this online module as a course assignment or pre-test to a an in-person tour. The "Sustainability at UNH" online module is a series of short videos followed by multiple choice questions, and is a great way to find out why UNH is one of the most sustainable universities in the country and how to get involved right here on campus!

The Talk About Teaching Workshop on Integrating Sustainability Into Course Curriculum was designed to help faculty consider what sustainability means to their disciplines, share best practices and resources and help one another design new opportunities to integrate sustainability, whether it is into one class session, a new module, or across an entire course.
